Don’t think diet and exercise, the words that make you cringe when you hear them.  Think permanent lifestyle change, it’s not just about exercise.  It’s about the quality of life.  Your overall health and well-being and for these various elements to come together there needs to be a change in your thinking and action in your lifestyle.  It’s the norm to gain 5 pounds during the holidays.  however the holidays are over and it’s back to the business of your life.  I felt so guilty during the holidays.  We bought candy to stuff the kids Christmas stockings with and I found myself eating twizzlers, m&m’s and snacking on this and that and I had to catch myself and say no more.

Not only was I snacking on the kids candy, I had taken the week off of exercising.  So the guilt really started to kick in.  So I said the only way to combat this is to get right back to the gym on Monday and that’s what I did.  I felt so much better.  For me wellness is about the way I feel.  I feel good when I exercise.  I like the fact that I’m being proactive doing something about it.  Instead of just sitting around complaining.  For the women who have families, it’s not just about you anymore.  You have a family that depends on you and you want to be around as long as you can for them.  You want to see them one day get married and settle in to their adult lives as happy healthy productive members of society.  As we age it becomes harder to lose the weight, but if you train your body now your mind will fall into place.

  1. skip-the-diet  Ban processed foods from your diet ie. fast foods, unhealthy snacks full of salt and sugar.

The daily recommended intake is 8 glasses of water a day.  This is so hard to do.  So instead I do what I can do.  I drink 40 bottles of water a month.  How do I do it?  I’m glad you asked.  We buy cases of bottled water from the grocery store.  I drink just two bottles of water a day during the week Monday thru Friday.  I give myself the weekends off.  2 bottles a day 5 days a week which is 10 bottles a week. 10 bottles a week times 4 weeks in a month is 40 bottles.  I get so many compliments on how clear and healthy my skin looks.  I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you, “I don’t drink soda, only juices, tea, and silk milk.  The best time to start drinking water is morning.  You don’t want to do it near bedtime or you will be up all night going to the potty.

 

3.  How-To-Take-Care-Of-Your-Bone-Health1   Increase your physical activity.  Build a routine.  Excuses are getting you no closer to your goals. Only action!

 

4.  Take-Care-Of-Your-Health  Regular checkups, for dental, GYN, and physical examinations for your body.  Take a women’s one a day vitamin.
