Summer is just around the corner!  So if you’ve fallen behind on your New Year’s Fitness Resolutions there’s still time to get beach body ready by June with 3 easy tips.

3 Tips to get your body ready for Summer

1. Cultivate smaller portions with a lighter diet.  Winter overeating is one of the toughest habits to break because cold weather makes us crave something hot and hearty.  However now is the time to start watching your portions and cutting back on the heavier foods, in favor of lighter fare like salads, lean protein, and mixed vegetables.  Gradually leaning out your diet now is the best way to prepare your body for a new normal and avoid crash dieting in June.

2. Commit to a clear fitness plan.  Any significant fitness results takes at least 4 to 6 weeks to show and that’s if you’re eating a healthy diet in addition to the exercise.  So now is the perfect time to commit to a clear workout routine.  A commitment to hitting the gym 3 to 5 days a week is a good place to start.  Be sure to set clear goals for yourself and celebrate small success along the way.

3. Plan a summertime celebratory goal.  Setting a specific date for some fun in the sun is a great way to keep you motivated.  You can easily visualize yourself looking and feeling great the closer you get to the date.  Maybe it’s a trip to the beach with your friends.  Maybe you want to look great for dating this summer or look hot for your husband, or just a personal accomplishment.  Whatever the goal you can get ready for summer now!

    • Hi Katy,Thank you for your comment. Changing my diet was the hardest thing for me.I was a meat and potatoes girl,and thought I needed 3 big meals a day to be full and satisfied.Drinking lots of water helped to curb my appetite.( tip:( drink water in the morning) It was gradual change, I cut out things like bread, carbohydrates,replace them with fruits and vegetables. I started eating leaner meats, baking or grilling chicken instead of frying. After a while a large salad would fill me up(add chicken or turkey to the salad)whatever you like. Before long my body got use to the change and so will yours! to start you can also do smaller portions 3 or 4 times a day. ( that was my doctor’s advice, Portion size is important and you will see results. keep up the good work, I’m rooting for you! You can do it!
