Labor Day Weekend

It’s the unofficial end of the summer season.  We love summer but hate to see it go.  Understandably so summer is the season of vacation, barbecues, family gatherings, sunny days and outdoor activities.  However, such is life that all good things must come to an end.  Not to worry God is good!  And there’s a new season upon us!  Fall!  The beauty of fall in its full glory will soon be here.  Fall brings with it new pleasures!  The kids will be going back to school and depending on what part of the country you’re in some kids have already gone back.  So that’s good news for moms!  Something to look forward to.  Soon fall foliage will be displayed in nature!

We will cool down to crisp fresh air!  But, one day at a time.  We must live in the moment, and this is the moment when millions of hard-working Americans will celebrate the fruits of their labor this Labor Day, and Labor Day weekend!  There’s still plenty of warm weather to enjoy and lots of sun seekers will hit the beaches, and parks this weekend.  Or maybe you are entertaining at home, as we are!  My husband’s birthday is on Labor Day weekend.  We always have a party for him.  We’ll barbecue steaks at the pool with the kids and hang out.

Shout out to all the Virgo birthdays, in August and September!  We have so many Virgo birthdays.  My husband, my mom, my Godmother.  How will you spend your Labor Day Holiday?  Whatever you decide to do have fun and be safe!  Best of all no work on Monday!  Yay!!  And remember whatever mood you find yourself in at any given time, think of SCW as that positive friend you can always go to get a good word and  be uplifted.  Thanks for reading SCW!  We love our readers! Enjoy your weekend!

Verse of the Day:

  • Make sure you have your road side assistance card updated and handy

  • Have a decent spare tire available in case you have to do it yourself

  • Confirm travel accommodations ahead of time

  • Whenever possible pack the night before you leave

Precious and Honored Daughters of God

We are always wanting to get to the new blessings God has for us!  We should have a heart of expectancy.  However more than that we need to praise God for where we are at on the way to where we are going!  Every step is important and worthy of praise!  In fact if we are not grateful for where we are at God could prolong the step we are currently on.  The old adage still applies “One day at a time!” God gives us grace for today!  May you walk in God’s Grace today!

Blessed in Abundance

Happy Summer Ladies!  I hope you all have been enjoying your summer and getting a little rest and relaxation.  Did you know that God commands rest?  Oh yes, He never meant for us to go non-stop, never stopping to take in His blessings.  In recreation, we recreate ourselves.  We renew our strength, refresh our bodies, thus getting a fresh perspective and renewed attitude for the next leg of the journey.  Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me all thee that labour and i will give you rest.”  While on vacation a typical day for me as a housewife goes like this.

I get up with my husband fix his lunch and see him off to work.  I hit the gym somewhere between 5 and 6am, and do my workout.  Next, I love to swim so  I swim for about a half hour, then relax my muscles in the hot tub.  Next, I have a healthy breakfast and hit the shower.  I take care of the business of the day whatever that may be on that particular day.  Sometimes that means running errands, appointments, etc..

On Fridays I like to clean the house for the weekend and prepare a clean warm, and inviting atmosphere for my hardworking husband to come home to. (yes I do it myself) Then I prepare a healthy lunch.  The rest of the day I get to relax until my husband comes home.

So you see I’m just an ordinary person with a normal life.  What makes me extraordinary is my relationship with God.  He’s the secret to my success!  As a Christian woman, wife and mother, I put my trust in Him and things have a way of working themselves out.  Keep believing!  Keep strengthening your soul with His word so that you may be able to withstand the various trials that come our way.  God never promised we would not have problems, he promised He’d be with us when we do.  When God is for you He’s more than the whole world against you!  Below are some uplifting scriptures about women to meditate on this summer.

Proverbs 14:1, “A wise woman builds her house but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.  A wise woman will keep watch over her house and seek to provide an atmosphere that others are drawn too in plain terms NO drama!

Proverbs 11:16, “A kind-hearted woman gains honor.” God wants you to be a woman who is pleasant to know!

Titus 2:5, “A woman of God is self-controlled and pure, busy at home, kind, and subject to their husbands.” She works at controlling her spirit, she takes care of the home, she’s a kind woman and she seeks her husband’s knowledge and advice.

Proverbs 21:19, “Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife.” (Wow even God says STOP! nagging him).  Instead have a conversation with him being mindful of your tone and the timing of the conversation.

Ephesians 5:22, “Wives submit yourself to your own husbands as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church.”  (God is clear, the husband is the head! I love having a strong capable man!  Turns me on!)

1 Timothy 3:11, “In the same way women are to be worthy of respect.  Not malicious talkers, but temperate and trustworthy in everything.” He’s saying if you don’t have anything good to say don’t say anything!  The bible says we are to build up each other.  I don’t involve myself in gossip!  It’s a waste of my time and I’m not interested.  I’m more interested in what is happening in my own life than anything else.  Keep watch over your own house ladies!

Beloved Daughter of the King

Do you know who you are?  When you know who you are and whose you are you can withstand anything.  You are a daughter of the King, Galatians 3:26.  You are God-fearing, Proverbs 31:30.  You are steadfast in Christ, Romans 8:31-38.  You are redeemed, Ephesians 1:7.  You are loved, Isaiah 43:3.  You are beautiful, Psalms 139:13-16.  You are worth far more than rubies, Proverbs 31:10.  You are more than makeup and clothes, 1 Peter 3:4.  You are free, John 8:36.  You are worth it, Romans 5:6-8.  You are victorious, Philippians 4:13.  You are joyful, John 15:11.  You are transformed, Romans 12:2.  You are dignified, Proverbs 22:11.  You are favored, Proverbs 8:35.  Own who you are!!!
