Christmas Holiday Meals and Entertaining

Happy Holidays!  Time for gathering and entertaining in the name of Lord who provides.  I ‘ve never met “Pioneer Woman”, but we’re like kindred spirits.  I’m sure you recognize her from the “Food Network”.  She  reminds me of myself in some ways.  She loves to cook!  She is very much about the home and family but also a business woman.  She’s built a whole empire out of the lifestyle of home and cooking and you can tell she is a woman of faith.  Her dishes are great and she entertains like a pro.

Today on SCW I’m gonna share a couple of her videos for Christmas dinner main courses for you to enjoy. Also click the link to go to SCW’s Christmas Holiday Entertaining!  We love our readers at SCW, and we wish you a happy, healthy holiday season from our family to yours!

The Peace and Hope Of Christ’s Birth

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and my personal favorite Christmas!  Celebrating the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!  I want my readers to be wise!  Like the wise men.  Do you have wisdom?  The bible says that “wisdom is better than silver and gold”, Proverbs 16:16.  I want my readers to be wise to the commercialism of Christmas in the Mass Media.  Don’t believe for one minute that it’s about stressing yourself out and going into debt to buy things that you can’t afford that are not necessities.

I love to give gifts, it’s a tradition at Christmas around the world.  It started with the wise men bringing gifts to Jesus and Christ is God’s gift to us!  The reason for the season and the spirit of the season is that we have the Victory, through Him,who died for our sins!  In Christ you have the victory!  That is the gift!  Praise God for what he’s done in your life and mine!  Thank God that you are able to give gifts to your loved ones and have a prosperous Christmas.  For it is more blessed to give than receive Acts 20:35.

However, if you are unable to give as you would like praise God for what you do have, because it can be a lot worse.  As Paul said, “I’ve learned whatever state I’m in to be content”, Philippians 4:11.  2 Corinthians 2:19, “My grace is sufficient for you.”

Here in California we’ve had a lot of fires and some people came home at Thanksgiving to find their homes GONE!!  Everything gone, in an instant during the holidays.  Starting to feel a lot more grateful now?  Me too!  I’m counting my blessings!  Throughout the season meditate on how good God has been!  I will be doing the same!  We’ll do it together!  I want you to really meditate on where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you like to go and pray about it.  Take God with you, he’ll make all your plans Succeed!  Proverbs 16:3.  Enjoy what’s really important this holiday season, your family, people you love and the people who love you, the things that can’t be replaced!  Hold tight to that which is good!

To all our readers and followers around the world!

A Merry Heart , and 4 Ways to Reduce Stress this Season

  1. Take Joy in the season and meditate on the goodness of the Lord.

  2. Set a Budget

  3. Spend time with family and friends

  4. Avoid going to endless stores in the holiday frenzy.  Shop online and have it delivered right to your door.  If you prefer going out preplan your trip, combine it with running errands and make a day of it.  Maximize your time and get a lot done in one day, that way you avoid going to endless stores.

Editors note: Happy Holiday season to our our followers and readers around the world From Southern California.

Happy Thanksgiving, Remembering The Goodness Of God!

Verse of the day:

  • Thinking of those less fortunate than ourselves. Shout out to all the homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and missions around the world today.  You rock!  For it is more blessed to give than receive Acts 20:35.  If you have an opportunity to drop off non perishables this season to organizations that are accepting them like Salvation Army or anywhere in your community please do so.

  • Thinking of loved ones on the Holidays
